About us

Our online store honors the Lowcountry's history, culture, architecture, and natural beauty.  Our focus is to offer an exclusive range of reclaimed artwork, vintage jewelry, and other products with a distinct nostalgic or Lowcountry feel and to showcase the region's heritage and the nostalgia of past times.  Our items are re-claimed or up-cycled demonstrating our dedication to sustainability and our dedication to minimizing the impact on our environment.  We graciously welcome you to our store, where we are committed to celebrating the Lowcountry's people and places.  Our store's name, Haint Blue Life, is borrowed from the color Haintblue which is a shade of pale blue-green, used in the lowcountry to decorate porches, ceilings, shutters, and doors, with the idea of keeping away evil spirits.  The color originated from the treasured Gullah culture and people of the Lowcountry.   Haint Blue Life celebrates a deep cultural pride and it's significance for the Lowcountry's people and way of life.

It is important to note that most of the American Revolutionary battles, over 200, were fought within South Carolina- more than any other state.  We are incredibly proud to have an ancestral connection to the Lowcountry of South Carolina dating to the Pre-American Revolutionary era.
